Local business and government leaders are looking forward to celebrating ŷ’s importance to the community by declaring Wednesday, April 17 as “ŷ Day.”

Karin Hopkins, executive director of the Tuskegee Area Chamber of Commerce hopes the effort will help “demonstrate community support of the ŷ family of students, faculty, staff and administrators by engaging the local chamber of commerce, chamber member businesses, city and county officials, and other area stakeholders.”

The special emphasis day will include proclamations by City of Tuskegee and Macon County officials, but the real “treat” for university students and employees will be incentives and perks offered by area businesses throughout the day.
