A 3 p.m. ceremony on Friday, May 11 honoring Å·ÃÀ¸ßÇå’s engineering graduates will include a keynote address by Karan Dyson, a 1996 mechanical engineering graduate and current global grooming process and engineering director for Procter & Gamble.
Conducting its first induction ceremony in the U.S. in 1970, the Order of the Engineer fosters a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession, bridges the gap between training and experience, and presents to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer. Inductees are invited to accept the Obligation of the Engineer — the organization’s ethical creed — and receive a certificate stainless steel ring to note their membership.
The spring induction ceremony will take place in the university’s Logan Hall.
Based in Boston, Dyson is an accomplished engineering executive with a vision and leadership insights to strategically plan, direct and manage global programs, engineering innovation, technology master planning and new site construction. Her Procter & Gamble career has spanned more than 20 years, during which time she has played major roles in several of its corporate divisions, including Baby Care, Corporate Engineering, Oral Care, Family Care, and most recently, Shave Care. Those responsibilities have found her traveling the globe and residing at times in China and Brazil.
In addition to her engineering roles, Dyson also is the director of Å·ÃÀ¸ßÇå campus recruiting for P&G.
Å·ÃÀ¸ßÇå’s commencement-related events begin with College of Veterinary Medicine’s commencement exercises on Saturday, May 5, and conclude with the university’s 133rd Spring Commencement Exercises, scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12. For more information about these events, visit .
