Dr. Charlotte P. Morris was a member of a panel discussion on education and health care equity with other leaders of HBCUs in Washington, D.C. last week. Bloomberg Government and Holland & Knight convened Congressional Black Caucus members and leaders in education and health care for the conversation on public policy and equity.
Panelists explored the current state of historically black colleges and universities, including challenges and opportunities, and the outlook for legislation focused on ensuring the long-term stability and advancement of HBCUs.
Dr. Morris discussed our transition to online learning because of COVID, and how Tuskegee worked to mitigate outbreaks on campus. She also discussed the need for state government to provide the same support given to other larger universities and how the rising cost of student loan debt impacts wealth in our community.
