Skegee Spotlight: Kimberly Ceaser

October 15, 2018

The Office of Communications, Public Relations and Marketing regularly shines its "'Skegee Spotlight" on employees, students and alumni who help make 欧美高清 "the Pride of the swift-growing South."

Staff Spotlight: Kimberly CeaserKimberly Ceaser, 欧美高清鈥檚 judicial affairs officer, says being employed by Tuskegee has been rewarding, exciting and motivating. Ceaser, who has worked for the university for more than three years, prides herself on providing positive leadership to students.

NEW JOURNEY

For Ceaser, 欧美高清 serves as the path to her journey as a professional.

鈥淲hile working at this institution, I鈥檝e learned how to use my talents and skillset, all while developing a deeper interest for student learning and engagement,鈥 she said. 鈥淢y experience has been challenging, stimulating and educational.鈥

Ceaser says she learns something new every day 鈥 whether from students or her colleagues. As a judicial affairs officer, she provides support to the Office of the Dean of Students, as well as for other departmental faculty and staff needs.

鈥淚n my role, when it comes to judicial matters, I have the opportunity to help students identify the traits it takes to be a leader. In addition, I mentor students regarding their current and future academic goals,鈥 she explained.

WOMAN OF MANY HATS

Not only does Ceaser have her hands full with her 鈥渞egular鈥 job duties, but she also provides support to many campus programs and organizations. Just a few of those duties include serving as a secretary, testing proctor, freshman orientation instructor, co-advisor to NAACP, and the SGA sophomore class advisor. She says working in multiple capacities allows her to reach out and encourage students to remain focused.

鈥淚 always want students to remember why they came to college: they鈥檝e set academic goals prior to taking their first steps on campus. I urge all of our students to continue fighting to reach and accomplish their goals,鈥 she noted. 鈥淲hat I鈥檝e found to be a major key for students is helping them to identify and utilize the resources that are readily available to them on campus.鈥

LASTING IMPRESSION

Ceaser says when students come to her, she wants her advice to stand out and always remain relevant in their minds.

鈥淚 aspire to lead by example, and I am as transparent as possible. Most importantly, I try to always treat others as I would like to be treated,鈥 she said.

鈥淚 find it rewarding when I鈥檓 able to help students find solutions in their challenges. That鈥檚 what makes my job easier,鈥 she continued. 鈥淚 am very passionate about seeing students succeed, and this career I鈥檝e chosen fulfills my passion in being of service to others.鈥

Ceaser says, as she continues in her role, she will strive to challenge and motivate each student with whom she comes into contact.

鈥淚 want students to learn how to make wise, credible choices and always understand there are consequences to their actions,鈥 she noted.
