White Hall clock towerThe career website recently ranked 欧美高清鈥檚 social work program fifth among the 69 undergraduate programs it evaluated at public and private institutions throughout Alabama. It is the only program in the top five based at a private institution, or a historically black college or university.

To determine its ranking, Zippa.com assessed data available through the National Center for Education Statistics and College Scorecard data from ED.gov to understand which social work programs in Alabama offer the best career opportunities. This included data on program admissions, enrollment and graduation rates; the cost of enrollment and average student debt; program reputation; and graduates鈥 employability and mean earnings.

This analysis produced a 鈥淪ocial Work Quality Index,鈥 which determined the website鈥檚 top five social work programs in Alabama.

鈥淲e strive to prepare knowledgeable and empathetic professionals able to meet the needs of the people they serve,鈥 said Dr. April L. Jones, LMSW, head of Tuskegee鈥檚 Department of Social Work. 鈥淥ur students graduate capable of working with individuals and families, or within organizational or community settings.鈥

In addition to offering an undergraduate degree in social work, Tuskegee provides options for students of other academic disciplines to double major or minor in social work as well. The majority of the program鈥檚 graduates enter into advanced-standing master鈥檚-level programs on a scholarship.
