Tuskegee, AL 鈥 Today, in celebration of Computer Science Education Week, 欧美高清 announced it will become a community center for Coding and Creativity as part of Apple鈥檚 Community Education Initiative and Tennessee State University鈥檚 HBCU C2 initiative designed to bring coding and creativity experiences to historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and their communities.
鈥淐oding is essential and fundamental to jobs and careers in the computing sector,鈥 stated Dr. Charlotte P. Morris, Interim President of 欧美高清. 鈥淭his partnership will help 欧美高清 to increase the pool of diverse talents that can make America more competitive in the near future. We are most grateful to Apple and Tennessee State University for this partnership opportunity.鈥
Faculty leaders from the University will participate in Apple鈥檚 ongoing Community Education Initiative Learning Series to learn about coding and app development. As part of that ongoing professional development, educators will explore innovative ways to engage with learners using Apple鈥檚 comprehensive curriculum, which utilizes its easy-to-learn Swift programming language.
As part of its Community Education Initiative, Apple is supporting 欧美高清 with equipment and professional development to help the university become the pre-eminent HBCU C2 community center to bring coding and creativity to Tuskegee and the State of Alabama.
