Our team works to produce communications content and resources while utilizing a variety of communication platforms — all as a means of strengthening the university’s brand, broadening relationships with the its target audiences, and advancing its desired strategic outcomes.
Storytelling and Å·ÃÀ¸ßÇå Relations
Our news and media outreach helps tell the stories that reflect our land-grant mission. The areas we have identified as strategic priorities include academic achievement, research, outreach, family/spirit and outcomes. We also can share our expertise and guidance with faculty and administrators before they meet with or respond to inquiries from journalists.
Our team works to develop and place news stories that align with the university’s strategic plan and brand position. We write, identify appropriate media outlets or mediums for, and distribute news and information to a diverse audience through cultivating media relationships and by leveraging a variety of print, digital and social media channels.
Our online newsroom is the official source for university news. Maintained and updated multiple times weekly, our site includes current and past news stories and campus notices. Our digital news efforts also include regularly published e-newsletters prepared for and distributed to students, employees and alumni.
Crisis Communications
Our team partners with applicable campus units to help maintain and execute the university’s crisis communications plan and monitor circumstances that may trigger its execution. The plan’s main objective is to provide information quickly and effectively to appropriate audiences through a variety of channels to minimize the impact of these crisis situations.
Digital Engagement
Our team maintains Tuskegee’s university-level social media channels as part of our overall news and storytelling strategy. These strategic efforts are designed to engage our target audiences, broaden awareness of university achievements, and strengthen our partnerships with peer institutions, industry, government and others potential collaborators. In addition, our office is a resource for other units that wish to create or require assistance maintaining their own social media channels.
Fundraising Communications
In concert with the Office of Advancement and Development, our team assists the university’s fundraising professionals and administrators with writing, editing and designing materials used — as well as crafting specific or comprehensive giving campaigns — to secure philanthropic support for Tuskegee. These materials may include proposals, case statements, print and electronic fundraising appeals, brochures and related collateral, and donor correspondence.
Executive and Strategic Communications
Our team provides communications and technical consulting to enhance messaging and communications at all levels of the university, especially to the president, trustees and other senior leaders. This entails crafting messages specific to target audiences, events or other needs as they arise; as well as developing complementary collateral, multimedia resources or other resources. As an outcome of these services, our target audiences will benefit from high-quality and visually aesthetic communications from recognized university spokespersons that are clear, effective and consistent.
