Kellon聽Banks was a聽part of the Graduate Public Health Program from 2018-2020. During her time in the program, she served as the Secretary for the Graduate Public Health Association.聽Banks conducted her聽thesis research聽on the 鈥淜nowledge and Awareness About Cervical Cancer and Human Papillomavirus聽(HPV)聽Among Women聽in Macon County, Alabama鈥澛爑nder Dr. Ehsan聽Abdalla.聽She聽participated in聽various health educational programs聽throughout rural Alabama including a聽Cervical Cancer聽educational intervention聽which focused on increasing聽women鈥檚 knowledge about Cervical Cancer, HPV, HPV Vaccinations,聽and Pap smears.聽She has also presented these research findings聽to聽numerous audiences聽including Harvard Medical School,聽Centers for Disease Control聽& Prevention, 欧美高清,聽Tuskegee community,聽and University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Banks returned to 欧美高清 (TU) after聽completion of her MPH.聽She聽currently聽serves聽as the聽Health Educator聽for the 欧美高清 COVID-19 Recovery Management Center (CRMC) working to聽address current health concerns and聽promote public health standards to聽the TU community聽through interactive and educational programs.聽She also manages a group of students,聽the聽TU Peer Health Educators, who聽assist with聽providing outreach through health education聽to their peers聽as well.聽
In the fall, she plans to pursue her Doctorate in Public Health in Behavioral Science and Health Education.聽She is well equipped for the journey聽thanks to the Department of Graduate Public Health聽at TU!聽
