The Ph.D. program in Integrative Biosciences at 欧美高清 creatively integrates basic research, education and service to advance the creation of new knowledge, apply existing knowledge to solve societal problems and educate future generations of learners to address the knowledge-based health, food and environmental challenges of the 21st century. The IBS Ph.D. program selectively leverages the combined strengths of the College of Agricultural, Environmental, and Natural Sciences (CAENS), the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), and the university鈥檚 major research centers in biosciences, to produce graduates who are competent and skilled scientists, problem solvers, critical thinkers, excellent communicators, and team players. CAENS and CVM have a demonstrated ability to consistently generate resources, through grants and contracts, totaling more than $20 million over the past eight years. The IBS program is under-girded by informational technologies, biotechnologies, scientific excellence and bioethical principles, including respect for life and the environment. It is expected that the IBS Ph.D. faculty, students and staff will generate resources and scientific and learning environments necessary to integrate basic and applied research and information in the biosciences to serve local, national and international communities.
